Baby J. and Her Quilt
I realized that in the last post I wrote up, I featured a picture of Baby J. on her quilt. The quilt was made by her grandmother, and I thought it was worth mentioning. Her grandmother made the quilt as a surprise. It looks like a castle, and it has little windows and doors (which are kept closed with velcro), and whenever Baby J. opens one of these windows or doors, she sees one of her family members: mommy and daddy, her auntie, her grandparents, her uncle, and so on. She absolutely loves this quilt. Baby J.'s grandmother made it as a surprise (I really don't know where the woman finds the time), and whenever Baby J. sees it, she lights up and loves to play with it. It's one of her favorite things.
One of the problems I discovered with the quilt came one day when I was trying to put her down for a nap. While in her crib, she glanced over and saw the quilt, and she completely forgot about how tired she was. She became completely obsessed with the idea of getting out of her crib and playing with that quilt. Now, we have to hide it, whenever she's ready for sleep.
