Baby J. points at everything now. She wants to know what everything is. And when she points she says, "Dat!" which my wife and I have both interpreted as her asking, "What is that?" So, we tell her. This morning she pointed at every item in the kitchen. One by one, she pointed and she yelled, "dat!" and I told her what each thing was. The counter, the toaster, the over, the dishes, the cabinets, the floor, the fridge, the pictures on the fridge, the panty, the lazy susan, and so on. I never listed so many things as I did this morning, and if I made any attempt not to tell her what something was (because I had told her already about seven times), she became upset and pointed more enthusiastically and yelled more abruptly, "DAT!" until I told her.
